Condell Medical Center Benefit Highlights
Non-Exempt Employees

Benefits are Listed Alphabetically

Dental Insurance

Employees are eligible the first of the month after six months of employment in a benefit-eligible position.

There are two dental programs: Blue Cross Blue Shield administers our indemnity program; Cigna Dental provides a DMO program.

Disability Insurance

Condell provides full-time and full-time modified employees with short- and long-term disability coverage, at no cost, after six months of employment as a full-time employee. Short-term disability provides 50% of salary from the 61st day of disability to the 180th day of disability for employees with 6 months to 5 years of service; 60% for employees with between 5 and 10 years of service; and 70% for employees with more than 10 years of service. Long-term disability provides 60% of salary from the 181st day of disability to a maximum length of time as specified in the insurance contract.

Health Insurance

Employees are eligible the first of the month after 30 days of employment in a benefit-eligible position

Holidays

Condell recognizes six holidays per year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. In addition, employees receive two floating holidays per year once they meet eligibility requirements.

Life Insurance

Condell provides full-time and full-time modified employees with life insurance coverage, at no cost, after six months of employment as a full-time employee. The coverage amount is based on an employee's position and is offered at 1, 1.5 and 2 times the employee's annual salary. Coverage increases as salary increases.

Benefit eligible employees are also given the opportunity to apply for supplemental life insurance for themselves and their dependents to maximums specified in the insurance contract.

Paid Time Off (PTO) and Extended Illness Time (EIT)

Full-time employees accrue vacation based on their position. PTO accruals will increase beginning at 5 years of employment based on the Medical Center accrual schedule. PTO begins to accrue on the first day of employment, but is not available for use until after the completion of three months in a benefit-eligible position. Full-time employees shall also accrue 8 days of EIT per year. EIT accruals begin on the first day of employment, but as with PTO, are not eligible for use until after the completion of three months in a benefit eligible position. EIT may be used beginning the 4th consecutive day of work missed due to an employee's own certified serious medical condition.

Pension Benefit

Employees who are least 21 years of age, accrue one year of vested service for every year in which they work at least 1,000 hours. Employees are fully vested in our defined benefit pension plan when they achieve five years of credited service. The earliest retirement age is 55; normal retirement age is 65.

Tax Deferred Annuity

Condell Medical Center offers three tax deferred/sheltered annuity {403(b)} plans in which employees can participate. Employees may contribute a maximum of 25% of earnings, up to a maximum of $14,000 per calendar year, to a tax deferred account.

Tuition Reimbursement
